Introduction - Aaron Rendon

Hey everyone, my name is Aaron. I am a fifth year/second year transfer student graduating in June with a major in History. After I graduate, I would love to get into a career that involves lots of writing with room for some creativity at times. Ideally journalism but more than likely either PR or Grant Writing for non profit organizations. I would really like to work for an environmental non profit, but I’ll honestly just take any job willing to hire me. At the end of the day I am a history major, after all. I was never the best with science so I truthfully could not tell you a whole lot about the environment. All I really know is that people who are much smarter and more qualified than I are saying the environment is in really bad shape. Not only is it bad, it is getting much worse. Ice caps are melting, animals are dying and reefs are deteriorating. Not to mention I am not much of a hot weather fanatic. Having said that, I’m hoping to learn much more in this class. I don’t have much personal history with the environment other than learning about it in class or reading about it online. The closest I’ve gotten to nature is similar to that of lots of people in California. That includes going to the beach, city cleanups, purposely attempting to get poison oak in order to get out of my wrestling tournament but failing to do so because I’m apparently immune, and of course, hikes. Speaking of which, I included some pictures of my friends and I out in nature during some of our free time.
